new chapter to begin
It's Saturday and three more good friends are leaving Sydney. *sigh*
Well, good to know that tomorrow's Sunday and just realised i've been missing last week's Adult Sunday School, Sunday service, choir rehearsal and service-singing rehearsal at WS.
I had service at WIC last week, remember? *Oops*
Anyway, it's alright. *grin*
By now, my life should have been back to its good old regularity.
Cheers

post tour thought - Miss y'all!
The troop has left and my life shall move on too...
Their presence has affected my life to a certain degree - surely i have learnt a few lessons from it. Friends come and go - it makes you treasure every moment you share together. How sweet it is!
Well, there are still John and couple of friends extending their stay for another day or two. Will be spending the rest of week with more Bondi, more W'mooloo's Harrys the Wheel, Watson Bay, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Mrs Macquarie Chair and Leichardt's Forum.

Chamber Tour - Day 4
It's Monday and it's our last day in Sydney. Spent the morning around Town Hall and QVB for sight-seeing and Woolies for choc bars. yumm!
Next stop were Hyde Park and St Mary's Cathedral. Spent quite some time here taking some photos and stuff.
Had lunch at Bondi Beach and spent the rest of the afternoon at the seaside, before heading back to the Lodge and getting ready to go to the airport. It's been cloudy and a bit drizzling but not for long. What a day!
Ensured that everyone has had a taste of Krispy Kreme's original glazed donuts at the airport, the group was then happily boarding to the flight that will take them home safely. Bon voyage!

Chamber Tour - Day 3
It's Sunday and the choir sang in 3 services at Wesley Mission. The crowd supported and cheered the group with loud applause and stand ovation. All glory to be returned to God. A shot taken after 7pm service.

Chamber Tour - Day 2
A trip to Taronga Zoo was fantastic. As a group, we were given a very reasonable price for the entrance fee. The weather was fine every now and then. Lots of photos were taken both in the zoo and during the 30-minute ferry ride.
Back to chinatown at 2pm for lunch and the next itinerary was to spend an hour or two in Paddy's Market. Good shooping there, huh? *grinn~
It's Saturday and it'd be better to let the group had an early night as they needed some quality sleep before singing in Sunday service at WIC.

Chamber Tour - Day 1
Meth-2 Chamber's is in Sydney! The crowd was fantastic as i greeted them at Sydney Domestic Airport. New faces and old ones all joined together. Was pleased to meet them all. A shot from concert in Gold Coast.

Spent the first evening with a long and quite-relaxing walk.
1. First leg: from Lodge to Chinatown. We then had dinner there
2. Second leg: Chinatown - Darling Harbour - Opera House. We stopped at both destination places for photo-taking session.
3. Final leg: from Opera House back to the Lodge.
The walk was started at 7pm and finished by 11pm. It's quite a journey, isnt it? To be frank, I dont mind walking.. hehehe~
I admired their spirit to have such a long walk on the first night in Sydney. Thumbs up, pals!

Thesis Week!
Sunday Monday and Tuesday were hectic. Really really hectic.
I played 2 hymns (together with the organ) and 3 choruses on Oct 16 Sunday service.
Holy Holy Holy (Dykes/Heber)
tune name: NICAEA
meter name: 11.12.12.10
Take Time to Be Holy (Stebbins/Longstaff)
tune name: HOLINESS
meter name: 6.5.5.5.D (D for double)
alternate tune name (thanks to Dr.Vicky for the suggestion):
au claire de lalune, away in a manger, foundation, gordon, love to Christ
Been spending the rest of sunday cramping on Ethics Report and Regulatory for Biomedical Technology Assignment-4. And that's not the end yet. I had my Thesis A Seminar today and this was it. This was the ultimate moment of the semester. The much-awaited thesis seminar day has arrived. Oh noooo!!
It was a bit twisted in the beginning but it went quite well at the end. You know what, the lecture room that has been booked at 12 noon for my seminar has been doubled-booked with some other class. It meant that a change of venue would take place.
I had been taking the stairs up and down many times from fourth floor to ground floor where the school office was locateed and i was all exhausted. Can't take the lift. it was too slow and didnt work sometimes. *sigh* It delayed my seminar half an hour before it finally took place in a luckily-was-unoccupied-for-the-next-35mins-only conference room somewhere on ground floor. What a day!
But thanks God, it all finished and now i will try to take some time to catch my breath back. *grinn~*

Asgmnt on Wkend
It's been a good Saturday. Spending the whole morning at UTS Union sitting-area doing assignment with Arie. It was fun and lots of laugh. There were also a group of people in the same place doing some video-shooting and unavoidably capturing us as the background. Shouldn't it be a good thing? Hmm.. no idea.
We finished the assignment somehow and it felt so great. I haven't been catching up with Arie for a while. It's been a while ago when we did group-project together. This has been his last session and he's been accepted for graduant position in some IT company for next year acceptance. Good on him! *thumbs up*
Not sure how it was initiated, but we did end up spending the rest of the arvo at Angela's place and meeting a new friend there. This friend of Angela is Lance and he's a graduant from UNSW Computer Eng. I was told he played badminton very well. He seemed to be a very nice guy. It's great to have a chat or two.
Three of us (excluding Arie - he went somewhere else) were having dinner at an upper-floor Jap dining place located across from Sydney Entertainment Centre in Chinatown. The night was wrapped with a brief night walk around Darling Harbour before we headed back to home. Should catch up again some other time, yeah? :-)

Without Jesus' Love
Quote from Arie's nick:
That is true, isn;t it? Outside Christ, we will be lost.
"Without Jesus' Love - days are Sadday, Moanday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thristday, Fightday and Shatterday - so be in HIS love!!"
That is true, isn;t it? Outside Christ, we will be lost.

News: Chamber's visiting Sydney!!
Chamber choir will have a tour to Australia. A morning flight arrival from Kuala Lumpur will land in Melbourne airport at 6.15am.
Chamber choir is a choir of my Senior High back in Medan, Indonesia - Methodist-2 Private Senior High. The choir consists of high schooler and alumni with talents in singing and willingness to dedicate their time and strength for long-hour rehearsal. Conducted by Mr.Daud Kosasih - a master graduant from Taiwan in Conducting and Composition (if i am not mistaken), the choir has travelled Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia during several occasions.
The choir performs a very wide range of repertoire of both sacred and secular music - from Reinaissance to contemporary pieces, from Palestrina to broadway musical like Les Miserables, Sound of Music, to name a few - folksongs from South East Asia to South America; and not to forget, the choir still sings in Sunday church service regularly.
The choir will stay in Melbourne for a few days and leave for Gold Coast on Oct 18. Their last destination will be Sydney with arrival date of Oct 21.

New Guy in Bass Section
I finished my Physiology lab earlier at 1600 hour, went to Clancy at 1630. Yesterday afternoon was meant to be another regular choir rehearsal session. But it wasn't. There is a new friend coming to the Basses section and he stood next to me in the last row.
My gut would agree that he is an alumni rather than a student. He wore shirt-and-tie and must have been coming from work. Later he told me that his name is Andy.
We started rehearsing some carols in parts. Every part (except Sopranos) struggles to sight read the music and the long-sentence verses at the same time, but not for Andy. He had excellent sight reading skill and sang all the verses correctly. And he had good voice too!
The truth is he is a "returning friend" rather than a new one. We chatted during the break. This smiley person has been in this choir a while ago and been singing for six or seven christmas concerts with the choir. *impressed*
Another revelation: Andy indeed is a music teacher. This fact surely explains all the geniuses he had in sight reading and singing. My friend's friend was Andy's student in some local high school not long ago. What an honour for me to stand next to such a great person.
Welcome back, mate! Hope you have a good time with the choir.
